Still runs great. | |||||
Victory Red with Off Road Package and 304k. Rebuilding front diff. Over next couple of weeks. Still running original motor with no rebuilds. Don't have heart to let it go!
Best vehicle I've ever owned! Let's keep going!
- | |||||
Still great riding on the highway this Rig has been solid and reliable awesome traction in snow and off road and very easy to maintain on my own without having to get fleeced by a dealer.

Best vehicle i have ever owned.
- | |||||
Just got for my wife so far no issues with it except someone jerry-rigged the plastic molding on top with some type of sealant other than that awesome truck!
Overall This is the Best vehicle I have ever owned. I bought the vehicle from the dealer with 6 miles on it, it is now 8 1/2 years old and has only needed the expected periodic maintenance. I could go on and on about my satisfaction and about the performance. One thing I have not enjoyed, has been the input from non-owners with their stereotyped crap about underpowered, gas guzzling.I still get a minimum 20 Mpg highway.(Manual Tranny)I love the inline 5, of course it was not designed to tow big boats or campers if you want to tow, buy a truck. I think most people who are critical are jealous.

Awesome truck, a few minor repairs. Water Pump and computer module were about the only major items.
I can not say enough about my h3.I drive thru NYC and people let you over! It took me thru a flash flood in Kentucky.I was the only one allowed to drive on the Long Island expressway after a storm! This H3 has been across the Country numerous times! Have replaced radiator,fuel pump and tires.It just floats and if I have to get another vehicle,it will be another Hummer.
Best vehicle I've ever had; got me thru major flooding waters with NO probs. It should be a collector's auto!
Daily driver. Regular scheduled maintenance. Replaced water pump, tires and driver front window switch. 1st owner. Will drive it till engine dies then will throw a new engine in it. I love this truck.
Rebuilt transmission $2,500 and due to misfire in cylinder #1 corrected same, which removed carbon buildup and cleaned valves, same time replaced water pump and a belt $3,500. The original tires were replaced at 120,000... I know, people don't believe me, nonetheless it's true. The finish still shines like new. Replaced the key fob due to the ring broke and it did the same in about a year on the replacement. Not buying another, it works, just have to carry it separately. One thing I don't want to ask about repairing is the GPS screen or more specifically, its lighting. The problem is during the day with too much light and the screen stays in night mode... I assume. Once in a while it will show brightly during the day, not often. My wife loves the Hummer too so we're keeping it forever. The transmission and the cylinder issue just recently I'm told are common to the 2007... the transmission issue disappeared with the 2008. You cannot drive a vehich a quarter million miles and not expect to make repairs and my total repairs is only $6,000, $7,000 including tires so I'm happy, happy, happy! We'll post again at 250,000.
Just bought today, wish me luck, in great condition!
H3 ENGINE LASTED 218K JUST PUT IN NEW ENGINE
My Hummer still runs and looks great . Best vehicle I ever owned.
- | |||||
The only thing I have done is to replace the water pump and hoses and belts and I just replaced the transmission. Everything else is stock.
Bought new in 2007, replace trans. In 2013, great truck.
Drive much! Runs great! Original everything!
Great looking vehicle - engine went at 200K - looking to sell. Do not want to put new engine in.
Just got it! I'm the second owner. I couldn't believe what a creampuff it was when I crawled under while inspecting it. The PO really kept it serviced well. Cool Truck BTW.
Still love this SUV | |||||
Runs great, automatic, black with black and gray leather interior. Asking 6800 firm.
Bought with new tires and excited about my purchase. This is my first Hummer and i love it. Hope I dont have any problems anytime soon but only time will tell. Hummer ON...

Still running good and I'm planning to replace the head gasket and timing chain and to rebuild the transmission at the same time just did the ac resistor recall by the GM.
This is my first Hummer H3. I just love it - even more then my 2006 Porsche Cayenne S. Has the rear Lockers so that makes it even better.
Just bought it today (9/13/18) for $7,500

Love my hummer. This thing goes through mud with no problems. I love my h3
- | |||||
Bought it 3 years ago at 108000... changed the ignition in 2011, hit a deer in 2012 going 100 no damage! Change broken front axle 2013 and now have issues with transmission or transfer case 2014... can't say enough about how amazing it is to drive! For the safety of the vehicle and the look and feel of driving it, simply amazing. In the winter... if I can't get out then no one should be on the roads!!
I Love this SUV, I still have people make comments about it. I had to replace Trans at 160k, and some old and ends repairs. My guess under $3500 from when I got it new. $2400 of that was trans. I will never get rid of this truck
- | |||||
My first car, handed down to me, great truck
Just bought her today, anyone have any thoughts on buying an older Hummer with such high mileage? Are they worth it?
- | |||||
Had it for 9 years , cannot find a worthy replacement . Maybe a 2010 Alpha will do the job.
Regular maintenance done. Replaced left front hub, passenger electric window motor and rest is stock. Use all Valvoline fluids.
New transmission at 160,000. Still going strong.
My Chevy Trailblazer died last year at 388k miles and a Hummer was my bucket list vehicle. I couldn't be happier with my decision to buy my H3. I have had zero reliability issues with it and I'll drive it until the only thing left are the stitches in the seats.
Great truck runs smooth no issues base model
I am the original owner and outside of the two cylinder head replacements, this vehicle is tough as nails. Maintain fluid changes and only run Mobil 1 oil.
- | |||||
I loooooooooVe My H3 | |||||
I have had 165,000 perfect miles on the H3. No problemes! Finally, I have a clutch/transmission -- checking into it. This is the best car I've ever owned.
Other then some annoying leaks Love it! Still going strong
My hummer H3 is lifted with 35 inch tires, 16 inch rims, i5 kinda weak power but beats many similiar vehicles put there. Love this truck. Gets aytentiin, carriesir all, love it. No problems and dependable.
I love Her. | |||||
Bought new in 2006. Original owner. Have taken this vehicle from CA to TN, and up and down the East and West coasts. Regular maintenance and everything is mostly original. Have replaced upholstery (finding OEM green/black was tough) and tires. Still looks and runs like it's brand new. Every time I take it in for service (at the Cadillac dealer now) I get an offer for a trade or purchase. What's funny is that the offer amount keeps increasing along with the mileage. I think they know I'll never give her up. Plan to replace transmission and engine when the time comes. Best vehicle I've ever owned - hands down.
Original Owner, I had put a new starter and radiator in around the 12 year mark. Now at the 15 year starting to idle high when stopping at lights. I just dive local 10 k a year. Love this ride and hope it can continue passing smog checks every other year until 2026. That will be end when it fails.
Bought my dream SUV one year used at about 30k miles in 2009. New engine (warranty issue) at 55k. New starter around 115k. Have changed oil every 5k using Castrol 5W30, done regular servicing per manual (done everything ourselves after warranty expired around 90k). Around 80k on new engine (130k cumulative), some oil burning noted, but insignificant amounts. H3 got stressed by drive/move from California to Illinois at 140k, and stuff started breaking at a higher rate (first half of 2017: thermostat, accelerator pedal sensor, throttle body sensor, radiator, horns, key sticking in ignition...) Commute 60 miles a day in this beauty and I still love her as when I bought her, and will continue to do everything I can to keep her alive. Looks, handles, drives great. Get lots of compliments on her condition even at nearly ten years old. Daily commuter driver and winter skiing vehicle 2009-present.
LOVE IT HUMMER FOR LIFE | |||||
Best vehicle I ever had and possibly ever own. The only thing I have issues with it being able to replace the small 5I with a bigger V8.
purchased Oct. 2007. Running great. Recently had emissions work(check engine light), but other than that, no major issues. Hope to keep it going as long as possible, Regular maint-oil changes etc. keeps it running great.
I have driven subcompacts my whole life: '73 Chevy Vega, '79 Chevy Chevette, '83 Fiat X1/9, '85 VW Golf, '98 Honda Civic, '05 Scion xb. I gave my son the Scion so I went to buy a used Toyota FJ Cruiser (my first SUV!), but hated driving it, couldn't see out the back. Saw an '06 H3 fresh on the lot from TX. No rust and shines like new. Fully loaded with every option and package. Turns on a dime and easy to park and see out the back, and cost $5000 less that the Toyota. With gas prices down I enjoy pissing off the local enviro-freaks. I could drive right over a "smart" car! My H3 has all original parts and runs great, although dealer advises replacing the transfer case and changing the spark plugs in the spring.
The dealer had the transfer case replaced before I purchased this one with 134,000 miles. After which I have had to replace the tires, drivers side power window switch and repair the blower resistor. I've added a CAI, performance air filter and high flow muffler. Planning on a PCM tune soon and will probably have to repair the diff pinion seal soon. I get 17.5 mpg regularly on the highway driving 60 mph. It's the best rig I've ever driven in snow and blizzard conditions. I don't think I'll ever trade it in.
Traveling 5 states in all weather conditions has been a comfort, think finally the head is done, its been off road lots, Hummer on!
Bought it Jan. 1, 2006. 3.5L engine is not powerful, but it was the first year of the H3 and the only engine available at the time. Adventure package and Luxury package make it a sweet ride on 33x12.50 Toyo M/T. No major repairs or problems and was my only vehicle until I picked up a 1994 H1 yesterday off EBay. First trip with it was 1,000 mile ride home with my H3 on a tow dolly behind it!
this is my second H3 and between the two I have driven them 14 years. I still can't let her go. Just love the Hummer. She runs great and handles well in rain and snow.
Get's driven pretty hard on and off road with hardly any issues.
Thorparts Winch Mount Bumper, Thorparts Bull Bar, Thorparts Rear Bumper, Thorparts UCP, Thorparts Skid Plate, Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks, Purple Cranium Rear Diff Guard.
I absolutely love this truck, best vehicle I've ever owned! I added a K&N air intake and that's all I felt it needed. Such a well made vehicle. I will never sell this, if the engine/ trans goes out, I will repair it!!!!
Amazing Truck! Basically just regular maintenance and tires so far. I bought it new in 2009 and I never want to get rid of it! Strong, Sturdy, and Safe! Best vehicle I have owned by far.
(144,158 miles) |
It's not even high mileage....yet..
I do all the work and maintenance to this truck, only issue that I've had is the torque converter in the transmission. Other then that its a great truck!
I love my H3 LX. Dreamed about it before I was able to buy one. Just made my last payment. Bought it used after leasing a 2006 H3 base model. Had 31,000 miles on it. No real major work yet but radiator might be leaking. Had fuel sensor replaced. Will keep getting things fixed because I will die driving my H3. Can't think of anything else I would want to drive. Don't even like riding in other people's cars -- feel so vulnerable. My heart broke when they discontinued the HUMMER. Might have moved up to the H2 (maybe) but doubt it -- it's too big for a little old grandma like me.
Bought the SUV with 132k miles in 2/2016. Had a new transmission installed within the 1 month. Now at 143k, the engine threw a rod without any warning. Oil changes have been completed like clock work.
Some vehicles just seem to fit your personality and this is the one for me. Here's to another 142000 miles!
Not a problem at all. Found this website to see if I should sell before major repairs. Looks like I should keep it for life and keep rolling!
Owned my red hummer since 2008. Had to replace radiator twice. Brakes once. Regular maintenance. Actuator to heater Blower replaced was a recall but replaced second time. Starting to use oil. Still not ready for another vechile.
Cool. | |||||
Running great, about the time where most bushings and "wear and tear" parts begin to show age though.
Run it like a baby so can't say she would be alive and kicking if this beauty climbed rugged terrain daily. Second owner, hats off to first owner for taking good care. Regular maintenance and a fix for a couple quirks common to the H3, I'm happy, good vehicle.
Canada |
Replaced water pump and transmission line but that's it.
Love my Hummer! | |||||
Absolutely love this truck! Favorite adventure mobile to date!
It's been nothing but gas and go here! The only thing we've had to replace is the gear shifter linkage. Good truck.
I just purchased two months ago. I owned the 2006 H3 and loved it. I have always wanted the H3t now I do. We will see how it runs.
Love my Hummer. Will drive it till it dies.
The best truck i had every owned----
Best vehicle I have ever owned. Only two issues were covered under recall.
Purchased with 72,000 ,miles Great Vehicle just normal maintenance oil change tires and brakes love it.
Brakes and major parts original. Started using 1.5 quarts of oil At 75k between changes and more on long trips. Use Full synthetic and change at 7-8k. Water got into plug and took out coil recently and dealer initially thought it was cylinder head. Keep to pm schedule pretty well. Shooting to keep it for at least another 100k or more. Had sun roof drains cleared and clipped. still get some seepage in hard rain when parked on angle or with luggage rack on. Very happy with vehicle.
132,245 mi |
Very new to me, haven't even put on a thousand kilometres myself, but so far the thing is running great!
Runs Fine..original engine and trans.
Love the way it goes in the snow, never any problems, have had it since I bought it brand new!
No major issues. Brakes, tires, and a water pump replaced recently. Otherwise a solid work vehicle that runs 100 miles a day!
I love my Hummer! | |||||
No problems whatsoever.
- | |||||
I bought my H3 with 21,000 and now have over 118,000 I have driven my baby all over the country, she is a beautiful Black on Black with all her chrome. I replaced the tires once and went with Firestone what a great difference in ride. My Lady really loves the H3, she says people notice her and even take a second look. I don't know if its the H3 or my Lady getting the look :) I'm sure both. She says NO one even looks when she is driving her BMW X5, Hummer like nothing else. We are extremely happy with our H3 and plan on keeping it.
- | |||||
Bought new Heater Core, Fan Resistor under warranty. Clutch Spring at 90K, 105K Driver side wheel hub Radiator at 117K, Needs the recall at the moment for blower resistor.
I...WILL...NEVER...GET RID OF MY HUMMER !!!
Lux package, chrome, rims, back-up cam, app radio, and more. runs like a monster...have done basic routine maintenance, gas & go. did have new radiator put in due to minor leak. i love the 'dirty' looks i get from those 'prius' owners....i just 'smile and wave' (like the penguins from madagascar). plan on dual exhaust & intake too. BUY ONE...you'll never regret it !!! |
|||||
Love my hummer! I'll never get rid of it. Great in snow, off road and any weather. Mine was a dealer car so it has all the bells and whistles. Awesome. I Updated navigation system and Bluetooth stereo. Replaced thermostats 30,000 but other than regular maintenance at the hummer dealership, oil changed every 3 - 4k miles, she's been great, UNTIL now, heard a "knock" yep! Rods... Timing belt, what next. Never had a bad moment. I'll still keep her forever.
I just bought my H3 hummer and i love it.. I want to get a another one and i think ill always have a hummer now..I have had range rover/land rover, and other SUVS but this might be my favorite..we shall see!!
- | |||||
Needs a new transmission.
No problrms at all. Just regular maintenance. Tires, Breaks, Oil & Filter changes, Transmission Flush, Radiator flush once per year. I wish I could keep it forever.
(111,890 mi) |
This Black Mamba is amazing! I drove her five years now and it sounds as if it says "RIDE ON BROTHER". The first car I kept for so long with no issues. I don't do off-roads though. Will NEVER sell!!!
- | |||||
Purchased used with over 100k. Runs great, no issues so far other than a bad headlight.
Just completed my first brake job since I bought it new in 2008. Still had plenty of pads left on front and rear. Had transmission serviced with new fluid for the first time. FIRST time I ever kept a vehicle past 60k miles. Will drive this one till the day they plant me in the ground I love it so much. A true work horse.
great vechile i wish they make hummer again
Bought in 2017 with 78,000 miles. Just had to replace radiator. Was in a 3 car pile up wreck. Was the only one able to drive away with no injuries. I absolutely love this vehicle.
We LOVE our Hummer!! Very reliable!! We just recently replaced the radiator. We have replaced the usual things... tires,breaks,oil changes ect.. It has a very small oil leak but otherwise is great!
Love this truck !!!! Had it since 30k only have had to do basic servicing this truck is a beast and a head turner at the same time I'm a Hummer driver for life!!
Never had a problem with this H3 except the manual trans has always been difficult to get into 1st and reverse.
Love my Hummer. Just recently changed the tires and replaced them with the SAME Goodrich tires that came from the factory. Have YET to need a brake job from the original factory brakes. Last time I had them checked I still had good pads. 60 per cent front and 70 per cent rear. Totally impressed with this...!
LOVE MY HUMMER!! I bought it at 70k miles. I have never replaced anything yet. It runs perfect! I change the oil every 3 k miles. Just gas and go!
I bought it a year ago with 83000mi on it. No problems. Transfer case leaking this week going in for service. Never had a problem till then. I commute daily 46 miles. And have taken it everywhere. Get looks and asked about it all the time, red with black trim really stands out. Will never get rid of it. Took it to the snow and passed jeeps and toyotas that were stuck on a 30% grade. Laughed our way to the top!
just purchased it two days ago will update every 5000 miles
Love this SUV - I drive it everyday back and forth to work and used as my 4 wheeler when I go hunting - it always get me in and out of those hard to reach hunting areas... |
